Red crosses being seen on Moscow streets amid Ukraine war? What reports said
Russia-Ukraine War: Although the existence of the crosses could not be independently verified.
Red crosses have mysteriously appeared on some streets in Moscow, Newsweek reported citing Ukrainian media. The markings on roads in Moscow sparked theories that they could be targets for drone or missile attacks.
In Moscow, people are going crazy because of the red crosses that have appeared around the city,” Ukrainian journalist Andrey Tsaplienko wrote suggesting the crosses may have been an attempt to troll Russians.
Reports of the crosses came mostly from Ukrainian journalists and social media. Although the existence of the crosses could not be independently verified.
Photos of red marks near the Ministry of Defense building,” it added, “probably, such marks indicate places for strikes by missiles and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).”
“Marks for missiles or UAVs allegedly appeared on the streets of Moscow,” news outlet Trukha reported. “They are clearly in a festive mood before May 9,” it added.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian buildings and roads had been marked with crosses and circles to demarcate targets for Russian forces. This comes as Vladimir Putin addressed the Victory Day, with only a single tank on display and no fly past.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has no goals or strategy for Ukraine, former Russian commander Igor Girkin said. Slamming the Russian leader for lacking goals or a strategy, Igor Girkin said as per Newsweek, “The goals of the war are not defined, the understanding that ‘this war – until the complete victory of one of the parties’ – also did not arise among the inhabitants of the Planet of Pink Pony.”
While announcing the “special military operation” in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin had said that the aim is to “liberate the separatist Donbas region and rid the Ukrainian government of Nazis”. But Igor Girkin claimed that there can be “no strategy” for the war if Vladmir Putin is unclear on its goals.
