India vs Pakistan: Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored twice while Jugraj Singh and Akashdeep Singh scored as well as India beat Pakistan 4-0.

Pakistan dominated the first quarter but Harmanpreet Singh gave India towards the end of it by successfully converting a penalty corner. 

Five minutes before half time, India got a second penalty corner and Harmanpreet converted that as well. At half-time, India led 2-0. 

Pakistan got the second half underway and tried to keep the ball with them. However, their passes ended up being too long more often than not and India were easily able to intercept. 

India’s superiority was testified as they scored their third goal in the third quarter. It was Jugraj Singh who converted the PC this time.

It was all India after that and Akashdeep Singh made it four with the team’s first goal from open play in the fourth quarter. He was played right in front of the Pakistan keeper in the 55th minute by Mandeep Singh, who trapped the ball well from Nilakanta on the left circle and passed it to Akashdeep from between two defenders.

They held on easily enough and the match ended with the hosts winning 4-0. It meant that Pakistan were out of contention and they now play China in the fifth place playoff.

While Pakistna face China at 3.30pm, India take on Japan in the semi-final later in the day at 8.30pm.
