A new picture of the attacker who who stabbed Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has surfaced, two days after the incident took place at the actor’s house in Mumbai’s Bandra.
In this new picture, which is a screengrab from CCTV footage, the attacker can be seen in a different set of clothes than he was seen wearing in the earlier pictures.
Mumbai Police said that the attacker likely took a train from Bandra to move around Mumbai or to travel to another place. Multiple police teams are scanning CCTV footage from railway stations across the city to track down the suspect.
According to the FIR, the intruder, who is yet to be arrested by the police, entered the bedroom of the actor’s younger son Jeh. After a house help raised an alarm, Saif intervened and suffered six stab injuries, including one to the thoracic spine.
The 54-year-old actor was rushed to the Lilavati Hospital, where surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. The actor is now out of danger.
Apart from Saif, two other house helps also suffered injuries after being attacked by a hexa blade by the intruder.
False lead and new footage later, Saif Ali Khan stabbing accused remains elusive
Police sources said they are tapping their network of informers and history sheeters to get leads on the accused. They are also analysing their database on history sheeters who match the description of the suspect caught on CCTV.
More than 40 hours after actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in a brazen attack inside his Bandra (West) residence, the suspect continued to elude Mumbai police. Police believe he could be a “hardened criminal” since he appears to have changed his clothes to mislead investigators after he left the scene of the crime.
Friday saw a massive manhunt to trace the suspect, with at least two dozen teams from the local police, Crime Branch and crime intelligence unit working to make headway.
