A Bereaved Salman Khan Pays His Last Respects To Baba Siddique At His Residence
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday night, will be given a state funeral. Bollywood icon Salman Khan, who shared a close bond with Siddique, has reached the late politician’s house, ahead of the funeral tonight. Salman appeared visibly emotional as he walked in, accompanied by his brother Sohail Khan and sister Arpita Khan. Many other Bollywood celebrities, including Pooja Bhatt and Sajid Nadiadwala, were spotted arriving to pay their respects to the three-time MLA and former Maharashtra minister.
In photos that have since gone viral, a heartbroken Salman can be seen arriving at Siddique’s house. Salman’s rumoured partner, Iulia Vantur, and the Bollywood actor’s sister Alvira Agnihotri were also spotted among the many celebrities. It may be recalled that Siddique had shared a very close bond with the Salim Khan family. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have confirmed that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang was involved in the NCP leader’s murder. Notably, members of the Bishnoi gang had also fired shots at Salman Khan’s residence six months before this incident.

Salman Khan, a close friend of Former Maharashtra minister and NCP MLA Baba Siddique, paid a visit to his house to offer his last respects on Sunday evening after the leader was shot dead on Saturday in Bandra East. Surrounded by tight security and his bodyguard Shera, a bereaved Salman Khan can be seen leaving his house after paying condolences. After hearing the news of Baba Siddique’s tragic death, Salman Khan cancelled the shoot of Bigg Boss 18 and rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where Baba Siddique died. On Sunday evening, Baba Siddique was buried with the state honours.
Baba Siddique was a prominent figure in Maharashtra politics and was well-known for his close ties with several Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan among others. He played a pivotal role in reconciling the two superstars, who had an infamous feud nearly a decade ago. The two stars, who had been avoiding each other since a heated argument at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008, finally met each other at Baba Siddique’s annual Iftaar party. Their earlier tension faded as they greeted each other with a warm hug. A photo of that moment quickly went viral on social media.
Speaking of the murder, at least six bullets were fired at Mr Siddique near his son Zeeshan’s office and four hit him in the chest. Three men carried out the shooting during Dussehra festivities. The two suspects arrested in the killing of Mr Siddique have claimed they belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, said sources. However, the gang is yet to take responsibility for the murder, which was carried out despite the minister having the ‘Y’ security.
