Tesla CEO Elon Musk has denied having an affair with Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife Nicole Shanahan amid reports that the liaison led the latter to sell his investments in Musk’s companies.

Taking to Twitter, Musk who also owns SpaceX, said the report is completely baseless and that he and Brin are friends who attended a party together last night. He said he had seen Shanahan only twice in three years and there was nothing romantic between the two.

“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic,” Musk wrote.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Musk and Shanahan had a brief affair in early December in Miami, following which Brin, 48, filed for divorce (in January). This also just ended the years-long friendship between Musk, 51, and Brin, who helped support the electric carmaker during the 2008 financial crisis.

Slamming WSJ, Musk further pointed out that the daily has run several “bull**it” pieces on him and his company Tesla that he now finds it embarassing for them.

“WSJ has run so many bs hit pieces on me and Tesla I’ve lost count! It’s embarrassing for them, frankly. They once wrote an article saying FBI was about to arrest me, so I called FBI to ask what’s up and they said WSJ article was total bs. Just more shortseller fud,” Must replied to one of the tweets on Monday.

When a fan account asked the billionaire if anything can be done, Musk replied saying “call them out”.

“Call them out on it, I guess. WSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub tabloid. WSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay,” Musk further wrote.

Musk’s personal life has been all over the place in the last few months. Recent reports revealed that Musk became the father to twins born to a senior executive at another company he co-founded, Neuralink.

Meanwhile other reports claim that the 51-year-old paid an employee $250,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim in 2016. However, the billionaire said the accusations were “utterly untrue” and came out at the time of his Twitter deal, which he is now trying to walk out from.

Addressing the matter, the SpaceX boss said that the attacks on his character have reached a new level this year and since he works crazy hours, he doesn’t have much time for shenanigans.

“Yeah, the character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year, but the articles are all nothing-burgers. I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans. None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed!” Musk said.
