Meet Sanjay Kumar Singh — the IPS officer who will now investigate Aryan Khan drugs case
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has transferred six cases, including the drug case against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, from Mumbai Zone headed by Sameer Wankhede — to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by IPS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh. The development came just days after the vigilance team of NCB initiated an inquiry against Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and others on allegations of corruption and procedural lapses in the Aryan Khan case.
The cruise drug case in which Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 by a team headed by Sameer Wankhede will now be probed by Sanjay Kumar Singh, a Deputy Director General-rank officer, who heads the SIT.
WHO IS SANJAY KUMAR SINGH?
Sanjay Kumar Singh is a 1996-batch Odisha IPS (Indian Police Service) cadre officer. He has served in different capacities with the Odisha Police and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
