PM Modi embarks on 3-day visit to US, for Quad Summit, address Summit of Future

New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning left on a three-day visit to the US to participate in the Quad Summit and address the Summit of the Future at the UNGA. In a departure statement, the PM said he is looking forward to joining his Quad colleagues President Joe Biden of the US, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan for the summit being held at President Biden’s hometown Wilmington, Delaware, later this evening.
“The forum has emerged as a key group of like-minded countries to work for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region,” he said.
He said his bilateral meeting with President Biden, to be held later today, will allow the two sides “to review and identify new pathways to further deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good”.
PM Modi said he is eagerly looking forward to engaging with the Indian diaspora and important American business leaders, who are the key stakeholders and provide vibrancy to the unique partnership between the largest and the oldest democracies of the world.
The interaction with the Indian diaspora is being held on September 22 in Long Island, New York.
There will also be a technology Roundtable on the day, with the participation of a number of Tech CEOs. There will also be separate and several other meetings with CEOs and other stakeholders.
PM Modi said the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly on September 23 is an opportunity for the global community to chart the road ahead for the betterment of humanity.
PM Modi in US for sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit
PM Modi will take part in the sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, which US President Joe Biden is hosting in his hometown on September 21.
Quad brings together four countries–India, Australia, Japan, and the United States. India will be hosting the Quad Leaders’ Summit in 2025.
Before leaving for US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for a three-day visit, he emphasized that the Quad has become a crucial coalition of like-minded countries dedicated to fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
In his statement before the trip, PM Modi said, “I look forward joining my colleagues President Biden, Prime Minister Albanese and Prime Minister Kishida for the Quad Summit. The forum has emerged as a key group of the like-minded countries to work for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.”
