Asian Games 2023: India win gold in Men’s 10m Air Pistol Team event
India won a gold medal in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol team event to extend the medal haul in Hangzhou to 24.

The Indian trio of Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema won gold in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol Team event by securing a total score of 1734. Their remarkable performance allowed them to clinch the team gold, narrowly edging out China by just one point.
India won a gold medal in the Men’s 10m AP team event at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on Thursday. This was India’s 13th medal in shooting and second of the day after Roshibina Devi Naorem won a silver medal in wushu.
In a contest that turned out to be incredibly close, Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema and Shiva Narwal combined for a score of 1734 points, ahead of China’s 1733 points and Vietnam’s 1730 points.
Sarabjot produced series scores of 95, 95, 97, 98, 97, 98; Cheema 97, 96, 97, 97, 96, 95 and Narwal 92, 96, 97, 99, 97, 95.
Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema progressed to the individual final in the 10m Air Pistol with scores of 580 and 579 points respectively for a fifth and eighth place finish. With only the top-eight shooters qualifying, this too ran close.
Cheema’s 579 points edged Iran’s Amir Joharikhour only by virtue of more inner 10s. The Indian shooter struck 19 inner 10s, the Iranian shooter had 13.
Shiva Narwal missed out on qualifying for the final with a 14th place finish and a score of 576 points.
